A UT poll finds Texas men and women are deeply divided over whether women receive equal pay for equal work. But it might not be a winning argument for democrats in the fall.
Poll co-director Jim Henson says a large majority of women believe it.
"Only 24% of women think that women receive equal pay; whereas 44% of men feel like men and women receive equal pay for the same work."
But will this benefit Fort Worth Senator Wendy Davis if she makes it a big issue in the gubernatorial race?
"There is a big chunk of the electorate that will probably be resistant to hearing the message."
Henson says overall, a third of voters polled disagree with the idea men are paid more than women for the same work.
"There's still a good number of people, roughly a third, who reject the premise that there is a problem here."
