Big changes are coming to the Texas Bowl next season.
Texas-based Advocare will be the sponsor for the game for the next six years. The company is headquartered in Plano and sells sports and general nutrition performance products. They currently have over 180,000 distributors in Texas alone.
David Fletcher is the head of the Advocare Texas Bowl and says the teams playing in the game are changing too, "This year's game for the first time ever will feature teams from the Big 12 and the Southeastern Conference."
The change of the format will hopefully create bigger interest for Texas college football fans.
Fletcher says he is glad a Texas company is part of the game, "These two games, the Advocare Kickoff and the Advocare Texas Bowl, we have great partnership with ESPN. So for the companies it provides them a national platform to promote their brand."
The Advocare Texas Bowl will be held at Reliant Stadium.
