As the Texans get an extra day to prepare for their season opener Monday night, millions across the country will be breathing a sigh of relief as the NFL is back on the Sunday schedule.
For the Texans, they will be starting their season without Ed Reed. Reed had been on the physically unable to perform list all training camp. Reed is still recovering from arthroscopic hip surgery in April and a possible torn labrum in last year's AFC Championship game.
The game Monday night is the second of a double feature this year. First, the Philadelphia Eagles will take on the Washington Redskins starting at 6PM. Then the Texans will take on the San Diego Chargers, kick off is set for 9:15PM.
The Texans home opener is next week when they take on the Tennessee Titans at Reliant Stadium.
