It’s only preseason, but it wasn’t the first impression that Houston Texans players and coaches wanted to make on fans.

The Texans dropped their first preseason game to the Arizona Cardinals 32-0, giving up 17 points in the first quarter alone.

Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick was 6-for-14 for 55-yards in his Texans debut.  The veteran also threw two interceptions.  Backup Case Keenum was 3-for-5 for 29 yards, while rookie Tom Savage completed two of his three passes for 14 yards; he was also sacked twice.

Running back Jonathon Grimes led all rushers with 39 yards in the loss.  Both Arian Foster and receiver Andre Johnson sat out.

Texans fans will get their first look at the team at home next Saturday when they host the Atlanta Falcons.
