Houston Mayor Annise Parker was well-received in Dallas this weekend, as she addressed the Texas Democratic Convention. Parker urged Democrats to align behind a core set of values.
"Democrats know education - a good education, is a human right," Parker said.
Parker also added her concern for the country's infrastructure and job wages.
"Democrats are interested in investing in American-based dividends. Building the roads, and the bridges, and the infrastructure of this country means good jobs at good wages and we are rebuilding America’s future."
She got a standing ovation at the end of her speech. Some democrats see her as a possible future candidate for statewide office.
