If you were looking for the Houston Texans to turn things around after a pair of consecutive losses you didn’t get what you were looking for.
Texans quarterback Matt Schaub continued to have issues last night. He threw an interception on his very first pass that was returned for a touchdown by Tramaine Brock as the 49ers blew out the Texans 34-3. It was the fourth straight game Schaub has thrown a 'Pick-6.' All told Schaub threw three interceptions.
“It’s tough right now,” Schaub said. “I’m very confident in my ability and everyone in this locker room. We just need to go and play better.”
The Texans losing streak is now at three games. But Coach Gary Kubiak isn't losing faith in his team.
“This is a team tough stretch. It’s a part of football. We’ve only played five games. I’ve seen teams come out of this playing good,” Kubiak said.
But Kubiak admits he has some decisions to make when it comes to his personnel.
“I have to evaluate what’s been going on, what we’re doing and how we’re doing it. That’s my responsibility. I believe in Matt as a person. I believe in him as a player,” Kubiak explained.
For his part, Schaub says he is trying not to let his struggles drag him down.
“We’re going to keep fighting. It’s a long season. By no means is anything all said and done. We’re going to keep fighting. We’re going to come together and we’re going to get it right,” Schaub said.
This is the first time the Texans have had a losing record since the 2010 season. Schaub & Company have the chance to turn it around next Sunday, when the St. Louis Rams come to town for a Noon kickoff.
