A Texas judge is calling the state's school funding system unconstitutional.
Judge John Dietz ruled Thursday the Legislature failed to meet its constitutional duty to make sure all public schools are financed so all schoolchildren can get an adequate education.
Dietz also says the system is financially insufficient.
The state has been fighting against four plaintiffs over school funding after an over five-billion-dollar cut in education was made to the state budget in 2011.
State Attorney General Greg Abbott is expected to appeal to the Texas Supreme Court.
