Wet and cold weather blew through the Houston area overnight and this morning leaving icy roads in its wake.
The winter storm caused school closings, airport cancellations, and dangerous driving conditions. Jay Evans with HFD says it has been a busy morning, "As the bad weather increased during the early morning hours and the icy conditions got worse, the Houston Fire Department since mid-night ahs responded to 136 MVAs (motor vehicle accidents)."

Ward recommends travelers contact their carriers to find out of their flight has been affected. As of 10:00am Friday airport operations were back up and running with delays. To check out flight delays and conditions are both Houston airports click here.
