Officials say the Houston Police Department is conducting an internal probe to review the work of its homicide division.

Houston police Chief Charles McClelland says in a statement that the department's internal affairs division has begun an inquiry ``in regards to investigative procedures in the homicide division.''

No additional details about the probe were released and that McClelland said no more information on the investigation would be made public until it's completed.

Robert Armbruster, an attorney with the Houston Police Officers' Union, says the union is representing a member of the police department in the probe, but declined to comment any further.
