The Houston Police Department is again helping area children “Look good and Feel Good” for their first day of school tomorrow.

"Area barbers and stylists will give predominately low-income children, both girls and boys, a free haircut, and free hairstyle, so they can feel good about themselves when they go back to school," Police Chief Charles McClelland says.

The annual program offers free backpacks and school supplies for needy children.

"We've been doing this for a number of years, and I certainly want ot thank all those professional barbers and stylists who participate.  It's a great program and a great help for those needy families.

“Look Good, Feel Good” is being held from noon until four at Harvard Boys and Girls Club, Fort Bend Boys and Girls Club, YMCA on Martin Luther King and Smartie Pants Academy.
