UPDATE:  The standoff has ended with no injuries.  Officials say the suspect surrendered custody of two-year old Cheyenne Johnson and was later subdued with a taser.  Jesse Thomas is in custody;  law enforcement has custody of the child until she can be reclaimed by her family.


Harris County Sheriff’s deputies are involved in a standoff with a man suspected of abducting an Austin toddler, prompting an overnight AMBER alert in central Texas. 


The suspect, 33-year old Jesse William Thomas, is surrounded by law enforcement outside a Petco at Highway 249 and Spring-Cypress.  The alert states that Thomas is also wanted on two counts of aggravated assault on officers.


The alert was issued around 9:20 last night, when two-year old Cheyenne Infinity Johnson was abducted.  Authorities say the getaway vehicle, a black 2005 Mercury Marquis, was spotted in the Houston area on two different occasions overnight. 


The relationship between the suspect and child is unknown, but unconfirmed reports say the toddler is Thomas' daughter
