It may be too late already.  If you’re traveling by air this Thanksgiving holiday, you may not get the seat you want – and certainly not at the price you want.

Linda de Sosa of Woodlake Travel says Houston travelers are notorious for failing to schedule early.

“In Houston we are such a last-minute market,” de Sosa says, “and I haven't really gotten any calls yet about Thanksgiving, which is scary.”

Many flights are already full.  As a matter of fact, you’re pretty late for scheduling flights for Christmas and New Years, too.

“Back in February and March was when you should have been booking for Christmas and New Years,” she explains, “but definitely you should think about it now because those are already booked up.”

She says commercial airlines have no incentive to offer good deals on flights during the holidays.  They know their planes will be full.
