With school board elections scheduled for tomorrow at the Lamar Consolidated Independent School District, some Houston area activists are making some serious allegations.

WhistlePAC and Rodney Vannerson are accusing the LCISD of cronyism, awarding nearly a million dollars of contracts to one construction company. Vannerson told Matt Patrick that where there is smoke, there's fire.

“It’s because of their lack of legally required transparency and they have illegally destroyed millions of email records,” Vannerson said.

Vannerson told Patrick these are records that should have easily been produced.

“We went to other agencies that we knew they dealt with. They were able to produce the records,” Vannerson stated.

Those records allegedly would have shown how nearly a billion dollars in taxpayer money was spent. Vannerson has been sounding the alarm for over a year, and now he's taking it a step further.

“We filed criminal allegations with the Fort Bend County District Attorney’s office. We have filed similar complaints with the U.S. Attorney General’s office because the district gets federal funding,” Vannerson explained.

Vannerson hopes action is taken.

“I think the district needs to be accountable for what they’ve done. Hopefully the agencies will do their investigations and we’ll uncover some of the things that we are fearful have occurred,” Vannerson stated.

Vannerson admits he has a political agenda. He was also was charged with criminal mischief last week for removing the political signs of a rival last week.
