Hungry Astros fans will find a home away from home when they show up for the home opener next Tuesday. A total of 1-point-8 million dollars has been spent on renovation and expansion of the concessions area on the main concourse. Senior Vice President of Business Operations Marcel Braithwaite says the food operation was already good -- now, it's better.
“Building upon that foundation,” Braithwaite says. “At the end of the day, traditional ballpark fare -- It's still hot dogs, nachos, popcorn, pretzels.”
Braithwaite says not only will there be more choices, the food will be fresher and the lines should be shorter. He calls this a reinvestment in an outstanding facility -- and the fans.
Minute Maid Park was built in the late 1990s. It was time…
“Tastes change, perspectives change, and so we want to keep up with that,” he says. “And, this is one step in the multiple renovations we plan to do.”
