Officials at Space Center Houston will officially announce the winner of their “Name the Shuttle” Contest today, the statewide challenge to come up with a name for the replica shuttle that is going on display at the Johnson Space Center.

The new 12-million dollar attraction will sit on top of a 747 Shuttle Carrier Aircraft, and is scheduled to open in 2015.

NASA’s headquarters for manned space flight did not receive any of the retired shuttles when the program ended in 2011.
