Four car accidents overnight shutdown most lanes of the North Freeway overnight, two of the crashes involved a police cruiser and an ambulance.

The traffic was backed up for hours while crews tried to clear the wrecks.  One crash sent two men to the hospital after their car stuck a light pole.  While an ambulance was parked at the scene another car slammed into the back of it.

Then later near that scene a police officer crashed after another car veered into his lane causing both vehicles to crash.

The finally a semi driver crashed after striking the concrete divide while trying to enter the HOV lane.  The driver narrowly escaped his rig after it burst into flames.

The main lanes of the North Freeway reopened this morning.
